International Marketing Unit
The mission of the International Marketing Unit of the UWE (Walloon Business Federation) is to boost Wallonia's foreign trade by bringing together providers of goods and services operating in the same field of activity (clusters). The action is supported by a leading company in the chosen sector (sponsor).
Advantages of our methodology :
- For Walloon companies, which are generally recommended by the sponsors, the Unit helps to increase turnover via new export markets. The Unit's approach creates a technologically enabling corporate environment, paving the way to outlets that would normally be inaccessible to companies on their own.
- For foreign buyers, the Unit's operations seek to diversify their suppliers, improve their sourcing opportunities and discover new technological options.
- For sponsors, the Unit is committed to preserving their image in Belgium and abroad, while helping to place their suppliers on a more stable footing, lending support in increasing turnover and fine-tuning quality in the light of international benchmarks.
Since its creation, the International Marketing Unit has developed 17 clusters and is continuing to add new ones. It has carried out 157 missions in 49 countries, with an average of eight companies per mission.
The International Marketing Unit has its own operating budget, provided by AWEX (Wallonia Export & Investment) and private sponsors : ARCELORMITTAL, BNP PARIBAS FORTIS, ING BELGIUM, LHOIST, SOLVAY.
The Unit can also count on advice from : AGC, CARMEUSE, ELIA, GLAXOSMITHKLINE, HEIDELBERGCEMENT, HOLCIM, INBEV, ITALCEMENTI, SNCB HOLDING, TOTAL, UMICORE.
